"Joaldunak" (bellringers in Basque language) march during the ancient carnival of Zubieta on January 31, 2023, Basque Country.The celebration of Ituren and Zubieta villages in Navarre mark the beginning of the Carnival season in the region. During the ceremony the bellringers (Joaldun in Basque) from Ituren meet their counter-part from Zubieta to parade in the streets, shacking cow bells to drive away evil spirits and hoping for good harvest.
